Assistant Director and Coordinator of New Student Orientation
A note from Kristin:
Hi! My name is Kristin Austin and I am an Assistant Director of Admissions and the Coordinator of New Student Orientation. With so many educational choices and opportunities in existence today, choosing where to pursue your college degree is a difficult decision. Please know that I am very excited to work with you through your college search process! I would like to help you organize your priorities, explore major and career options and determine if Bloomsburg will be the best fit for you! I made one of the best decisions ever to attend Bloomsburg University for my Bachelor’s degree and have enjoyed a successful career ever since! My goal is to help other students find the same success in their school and in life after graduation as well! I travel to high schools and college fairs predominantly in and around the Harrisburg, PA area. Ask your guidance counselor when I will be in your area! I would love to hear from you and/or your parents if you have any questions about Bloomsburg! GO HUSKIES!!!
"Don't frown, you never know who is falling in love with your smile!"
"Clean your optics. You can't be optimistic with misty optics."
"You can never fail if you never give up."
Best Advice: Start with the end in sight. Plan your decisions based on your long-term goals, not your short-term goals.
Favorite BU Activity: Celebrity Artist Series and basketball games
Hobbies/Interests: Sign language, traveling and spending time with my husband and son.
Hometown: Erie, PA
Why I came to Bloomsburg: Being from Central PA means the Bloomsburg fair was always a part of my childhood. Eventually, I learned that there wasn’t just a cool fair in Bloomsburg, but there was also a great University! The fact that BU offered a sign language program only reinforced my desire to attend. Attending Bloomsburg has been among the top five best decisions I have made in my life to date.
Educational background: BSW, Bloomsburg University, 2002; MA, Edinboro University, 2006
Recruitment area: Harrisburg area, Lancaster, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill
Please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions you might have. I look forward to meeting with you very soon! Check with your guidance counselor to see when I will be in your area.
