Federal Direct Undergraduate PLUS Loan MPN

Federal Direct Undergraduate PLUS Loan MPN

Dear Parent:

Providing your child with the best postsecondary education possible plays a crucial role in their career development.  If you need assistance in financing their education at Bloomsburg University, you may apply for a Federal Direct Undergraduate Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students Master Promissory Note (PLUS MPN).  Remember, the PLUS MPN is a legal document that holds you responsible for repayment of current and future loans.  If you have multiple students enrolled needing a PLUS loan, a separate PLUS MPN must be submitted for each student.  The PLUS MPN is valid for 10 years and does not require you to complete another Note for subsequent borrowing unless the original MPN was approved with an endorser.  If an endorser is required, future borrowing will require that a new MPN be submitted.  If you have already received a PLUS Loan and did not require an endorser you may request additional loan be processed by completing a "Federal Direct PLUS Loan Request Form".    The parent borrower must be the dependent student's biological or adoptive parent. A stepparent is also eligible to borrow a PLUS loan only if their income and assets were used on the student's Free Application for Federal Student Aid. A legal guardian is not considered an eligible borrower. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have questions about your eligibility.

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.  It is important that you complete all 4 Steps to insure that your loan application is properly processed.  Failure to do so will delay the certification of your loan.  If the student you are applying for is not currently enrolled as a Bloomsburg University student or has been Admitted and but has not paid their Admissions Deposit, DO NOT SUBMIT THIS APPLICATION.
