Bloomsburg University Scholarships
Students are advised to review the complete list of Bloomsburg University Scholarships. The scholarship application period for the 2017-2018 academic year opens December 1, 2016. The deadline for currently enrolled students is March 1, 2017. For incoming Freshmen and incoming Transfer students the deadline is April 1, 2017.
Bloomsburg University Scholarships are mostly designed for undergraduate students who have been enrolled full-time at Bloomsburg University during the fall semester 2016 and who will continue full-time enrollment at Bloomsburg University in the 2017-2018 academic year. Unlike other aid programs, grades and extracurricular activities are considered foremost. Most of these scholarships range in value from $100 to $1,500 per year. Scholarships are available for students in many academic programs of study as well as in music or athletics. Awards are also offered to students who reside in certain communities or who meet other special criteria.
There are various scholarships available through the PASSHE (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education) Foundation. Information regarding these scholarships may be found at www.thepafoundation.org.
Army ROTC Scholarships, which are available on a competitive basis for two-year, three-year, and four-year periods, pay tuition and fees, a semester stipend for materials and books (approximately $300), plus a monthly allowance for the duration of the scholarship. Recipients are obligated to serve four years on active duty as a second lieutenant and four years in the military reserves after graduation. Miscellaneous scholarships from various off-campus sources are available. In addition to these, many other awards may be available. Students are encouraged to explore scholarship opportunities with high schools, religious, civic, and community organizations. Questions regarding miscellaneous scholarships should be directed to the particular organization. Students are reminded that any monies received must be reported to the Office of Financial Aid.
