Center for the Visual and Performing Arts

Bloomsburg University's Center for the Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) was formed to provide a vital link between the university and Bloomsburg Community through its public events. Each year, CVPA offers programs from the departments of Art and Art History, English, Music, Theatre and Dance, Media and Journalism, and Arts In Bloom Programming to celebrate the arts and support the connection between the university and our broader community. Click on the department websites (above) for more exciting programming. Featured events have included the Big Band Dance, the Personal Adornment Day and Makeup Extravaganza and the Taste of the Arts, which brings together BU's representative arts programs in an extended collaborative event.

Learning Community

The Creative Arts LC is a community of students who share a common passion for the arts. Many of our members are majors or minors in arts fields such as music, creative writing, dance, theatre, or studio art. However, we also have students who are chemistry, criminal justice, and accounting majors, as well as students who are currently undeclared. And while students do benefit from living in the same residence hall, we have several members who are commuters or who live in other halls. We also offer a distinct component for upperclassmen.

The most important thing about our LC is that it provides an atmosphere where you can gain the opportunity, support, and experience you’ll need to flourish at Bloomsburg. Trained peer mentors work closely with LC members, organizing activities, leading study groups, and providing guidance to navigate college life.

CVPA Donations

Donations, regardless of the amount, are most appreciated. To donate, visit the Bloomsburg University Foundation donation page. In the Donation Information section, Designation of "Other" may be selected. Then CVPA can be entered in the field.
