On behalf of our faculty and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Management and International Business, the largest department in the Zeigler College of Business. We offer a B.S.B.A. in Management, a B.S.B.A. in International Business with seven Specializations (Accounting, Finance, ITM, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Economics, and Policy and Globalization), a Minor in Management, a Minor in Supply Chain Management, a Minor in Human Resource Management, a Minor in Entrepreneurship, an Entrepreneurship and Small Business Certificate, and MBA courses.
I am proud to be the Chair and a faculty in a department where students are the top priority of our faculty and staff. We are committed to student success by providing state of the art education in management, international business, and related fields of study by emphasizing exemplary student-centered teaching and advising, innovative curriculum development, engagement opportunities, and relevant collaborative scholarship.
I am proud of the accomplishments of our faculty members. Our faculty are highly qualified academic scholars and experienced business professionals who are committed to the excellence of innovative teaching, impactful research, and engaging services to students and community. Our faculty, who have won prestigious awards for teaching, research, and services, are recognized as excellent teachers and scholars regionally, nationally, and internationally. Our diverse group of faculty has published in leading refereed and professional journals in our primary teaching areas such as Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Journal of Management Education, Human Resource Management Journal, Leadership and Organization Development Journal, Management Decision, Business Case Journal, Journal of World Business, International Journal of Conflict Management, and others. In addition, our faculty meets one-on-one with students to provide them with academic and career-related advice to help them succeed.
I am proud of our excellent and innovative programs. Our programs, which are developed by our faculty and fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), are rigorous and frequently updated to make sure we provide our students with knowledge, skills and competencies that are decidedly sought after by business organizations and industries.
I am proud of faculty involvement in providing our students engagement opportunities including internships, field trips, case competitions, consulting/research projects, and student organizations. Our student organizations are advised directly by our dedicated faculty including the Global Business Association, Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), and ENACTUS.
Last but most importantly, I am proud of the dedication and accomplishments of our hard-working students, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college. The students are giving their best daily to succeed. For example, our Global Business Association student team recently placed third at the Consortium for Undergraduate International Business Education (CUIBE) Case Competition; besting many great schools such as The George Washington University, Loyola University Chicago, University of Oklahoma, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and James Madison University.
