Bloomsburg University's Department of Mathematical and Digital Sciences, led by 24 full-time faculty members holding doctoral degrees from a number of prestigious institutions, is committed to preparing graduates for rewarding careers in mathematics, computer science, statistics and digital forensics.
Our faculty members are also active in various research areas, publish articles and textbooks, and maintain strong connections to local industry.
In addition, our department offers a program supporting teacher certification in secondary education mathematics, as well as career-enhancing minors in statistics and computer science, including a web development track.

BU has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense Education with a focus in the area of digital forensics through academic year 2021. The CAE designation, jointly sponsored by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, recognizes BU's digital forensics program has meet stringent criteria in regards to the curriculum, faculty, research, and demonstrates an institution-wide commitment to information assurance practices and cyber defense education.
Students attending CAE designated schools become eligible to apply for related scholarships and grants through the Federal Cyber Service Scholarship for Service Program.
