Bloomsburg University recognizes top honor graduates for Spring 2022

Bloomsburg University is recognizing its top honor Spring 2022 graduates for each college, who will each be acknowledged at the upcoming undergraduate commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 15.

Spring Commencement

The ceremonies will be held outdoors (rain or shine) at Redman Stadium as follows.

Sunday, May 15

  • 10 a.m. - College of Education and College of Liberal Arts
  • 3 p.m. - Zeigler College of Business and College of Science and Technology

Graduate commencement will be held Friday, May 13, at 6 p.m. in Haas Center for the Arts.

For both the graduate and undergraduate ceremonies, only clear bags will be permitted in the venues. Umbrellas are not permitted inside Redman Stadium. In the event of rain, please be sure to have rain gear. No concessions will be available so guests may bring a clear bottle of water in the event of warm weather. Zeigler College of Business

The top honor graduate from the Zeigler College of Business is Nathan V. Paulauskas from Halifax, Pa., who is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Administration - Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics - Business. Paulauskas has received the Adam Smith Award in Economics, which is presented to a senior in recognition for outstanding academic performance in the major and service to the community. He has also been inducted into Tri-Alpha, a first-generation college student honors society.

College of Education

In the College of Education, the top graduates are Brittany Michelle Fersht and Emily Elizabeth Wolfe.

Ferhst, from Marlboro, N.J., is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in ASL and English Interpreting. She plans to interpret in a school district in Maryland and freelance with an agency. Ferhst has passed the National Interpreter Certification Exam and plans to take the performance portion of the exam after she gains more experience. Ferhst also plans to take a gap year before pursuing her master's degree from Gallaudet University in either linguistics or combined interpreting practice and research. During her time at Bloomsburg University, she has received a certificate from the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society and made Dean's List every semester.

Wolfe, from Leck Kill, Pa., is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Special Education (PK-8) and Early Childhood (PK-4). She plans to pursue a teaching job in a local school district and further her education after becoming a full-time teacher. Currently, Wolfe is considering the Social, Emotional, and Behaviorial Wellness PK-12 Endorsement or a Reading Specialist Certification from Bloomsburg University. She is a recipient of the Bartlett Education Scholarship and has achieved the Dean's List during her time at Bloomsburg University.

College of Liberal Arts

In the College of Liberal Arts, the top graduates are Elaine M. Mast and Eva Sofia Wozniak.

Mast, from Adamstown, Pa., is earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Social Work. Over the summer she will begin her Master of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania. During her time at BU, she was inducted into Psi Chi, the international honors society in psychology.

Wozniak, from Collegeville, Pa., is earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication - Telecommunications. She has been accepted to Temple University's Mediaxarts master's program and is exploring many opportunities with several national multi-media companies. Wozniak is the Outstanding Student in the Telecommunications track in the Media and Journalism major. During her time at Bloomsburg University, she has been a member of BUnow and BUSN and had an internship with NFL Films for an entire football season.

College of Science and Technology

In the College of Science and Technology, the top honor graduates are Andrew Clickard and Gabriela Rose Musumeci.

Clickard, from Bloomsburg, is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in physics and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. After graduation Clickard will pursue his Ph.D. in mathematics at Temple University. At Bloomsburg University, Clickard was part of the Honors College and president of the Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honors Society. He was also nominated for the Syed R. Ali-Zaidi Award for Academic Excellence.

Musumeci, from Pedricktown, N.J., is earning a Bachelor of Science in speech pathology and audiology. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school at East Carolina University for her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD). She has also been inducted into the Tri-Alpha First Generation Honors Society and the Honors Society of Phi Kappa Phi during her time at Bloomsburg University.
