She is currently working in Steven Rier’s stream ecology lab researching ecosystem function of streams and collaborating with the Chesapeake Conservancy to monitor stream restoration projects.

Her research focuses on a benthic cyanobacteria, Phormidium spp.She would like to better understand the environmental conditions that cause it to proliferate and learn more about the ecosystem function of the benthic mat it creates.
