BU Chamber Orchestra’s Spring Concert Sunday

BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra will present pieces by Mozart and Handel during their spring concert on Sunday, March 26, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bloomsburg. Conducted by Mark Jelinek and featuring viola soloist Agnes Maurer, the concert is open to the public free of charge.

Violist Maurer studied at the Peabody Conservatory and at the New School of Music after coming to the United States from France. Currently, she teaches violin and viola and coaches chamber music at Lyndon State College in Vermont. She is also the founder and executive director of the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble, which created the only chamber music series in Schuylkill County. As a chamber musician, she freelances throughout eastern Pennsylvania and has toured worldwide with various companies.

The Bloomsburg University Chamber Orchestra will perform Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor and Handel’s Concerto in B Minor for Viola and Orchestra, arranged and adapted by Henri Casadesus.
