Rosalee Rush was named assistant vice president for marketing and communications at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in August 2012, four years after arriving at the university as director of communications.
The Michigan native is responsible for all aspects of the university’s internal and external communications, marketing and advertising, including brand strategy, strategic communications, web and digital communications, sports information, enrollment management marketing and emergency communications. Rush serves as the university spokesperson and crisis communications coordinator.
Prior to arriving at Bloomsburg University, Rush was a communications specialist with the Michigan Economic Development Corp., serving as editor of the agency newsmagazine, Michigan Business Report, and managing the agency's quality-of-life e-publication, MiLifeMiTimes.com. Earlier in her career, she worked with Michigan's Office of Services to the Aging, Michigan Jobs Commission and Industrial Relations Council on G.O.A.L.S., a consortium of 20 top American corporations and 20 of the top graduate universities with programs in human resource management.
Rush serves on the Board of Directors for the College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP) and is a member of Geisinger Medical Center’s Women’s Health Volunteer Leadership Council. Co-author of Learning Organization Principles: The Impact on a Midwest State Government as Perceived by Its Employees, she received a King/Chavez/Parks Future Faculty Fellowship and was named a Fellow at the National Summer Institute for the Center of Multicultural Excellence Academy at the University of Denver in 2008.
Rush, who is a 2015-16 American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow, holds a doctoral degree in higher education leadership from Western Michigan University, and bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Michigan State University.
