This division addresses and supports the needs of faculty for technology integration in the classroom and distance education.

About Us

Our mission is to assist with the use of instructional technology to achieve higher learning in any learning environment.

We offer students assistance with instructional technology used in their courses so they can focus on academic success. We manage and support BOLT, Zoom, and other instructional technologies they encounter in the classroom.

We offer faculty and staff LMS and instructional technology support and training, distance learning and instructional design services, and professional development opportunities.

Student Staff

The IMDC employs student workers to assist faculty, students, and staff with technical support concerns. Our student staff are highly trained in BOLT, Zoom, and other instructional technologies.  

Our Graduate Assistants and Interns work with us to help provide instructional design advice and implementation for faculty, staff, and departments.

We offer training and support for instructional technology at Bloomsburg University for faculty, staff, and students.

We staff a support lab for faculty and staff. We are MOVING to AAB-365 and will be open for fac/staff drop ins Fall 2021!

The IMDC is here to help with all your BOLT needs. Do you need to add or remove users, request a course shell, or put an announcement in BOLT?  Allow at least 24-48 hours processing time for acknowledgment of requests.

NOTE: Requests may take up to five business days to be processed during the week prior to and first two weeks of a semester or session!

We can assist with all your Zoom related needs, from licensing accounts to assisting with events. Please use the appropriate forms below to make your Zoom related requests.

Allow at least 24-48 hours processing time for acknowledgement of requests.

If you are requesting a webinar, please make sure you are requesting it at least 2 weeks before the date of the webinar. If you are not, please fill out the form and notify zoomadmin@bloomu.edu of your request so we can ensure a timely turnaround.

Online Course Consultation

We provide consultation to faculty moving courses online. If you are working on developing an online course or online version of a course, we can help you design engaging courses and provide advice on options for content delivery, assessments, and learning activities. If you want to request a consultation, please reach out to imdc@bloomu.edu.  

Course Template

Did you know we have a development template you can use in your courses online? The template includes placeholders you can edit to provide students with important course and University information. It is responsive, so it works on all devices and screen sizes. If you want the template applied to your course, you can request it at https://forms.office.com/r/2J1vSVbzXB.

Quiz & Question Services

Do you have quizzes or questions created for your online course that you want to easily get into BOLT? We can assist with that, whether it’s helping you learn how to use Respondus 4.0, doing a Respondus conversion for you, or helping you use an independent tool to get your questions loaded into your course.

Quality Matters

Bloomsburg University is a subscribing member of Quality Matters. Quality Matters is a non-profit organization concerned with the quality of online courses. For more information about what QM can assist with for distance education courses, contact the Quality Matters Coordinator, Chaya Merrell at cmerrell@bloomu.edu

TOCC

Bloomsburg University collaborates with other schools in PASSHE to provide the Teaching Online Certification Course. The course is a three week, asynchronous, online course. For Bloomsburg faculty, completing the course is voluntary. Over 200 faculty members have completed this course to date! Invitations for registration are sent via email from the IMD manager, Chaya Merrell. Watch for the invites!

Quality Matters

The IMDC provides facilitation of the foundational Applying the Quality Matters Rubric workshop online, and sometimes coordinates face-to-face sessions of this workshop on campus. Please reach out to our Quality Matters Coordinator, Chaya Merrell, for more information at cmerrell@bloomu.edu

TOCC
