Teaching and Research Interests
David Randall has a varied repertoire that includes Classical to Contemporary Literary Theory and Criticism, Classical and Contemporary Film Theory and Criticism, as well as Postmodern American and Continental Literatures. He has coordinated the Friday Film Series since 2001 and presently organizes it in conjunction with the Gender Studies Minor. His Ph.D. examines the literary and philosophical concept of irony in literature and postmodern/poststructuralist theoretical writings. A number of publications since graduate school illustrate his supplementary concentration in film studies. Currently, his research deals with Evolutionary Literary Criticism and his recent publications explore this theory in relation to both film, literature and literary criticism. Dr. Randall began teaching at Bloomsburg University in August 1994 after teaching for eight years at Pennsylvania State University, State College.
