Julie Vandivere earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Cornell University. She also has an M.A. in Comparative Literature from Brigham Young University. Her B.A in English and Spanish is from the University of Utah. Since finishing her Ph.D., she has received fellowships from Cambridge University (Cambridge, England), Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut), and Cornell University (Ithaca, New York).

Professor Vandivere has written numerous articles on modernist women writers, including essays on Virginia Woolf, Bryher, H.D., and Vita Sackville West, She co-edited the first edition of H.D.’s The Sword Went out to Sea (UP Florida 2007) and a collection of essays entitled Modernist Women Writers and the Making of Modernism (forthcoming UP Florida). Deeply committed to collaboration and student research, she co-edited with English major Megan Hicks the Selected Papers from the 25th Annual International Conference on Virginia Woolf (Clemson UP 2016) and co-wrote with students Megan Hicks, Emma Slotterback, and Katie Starliper an essay for the PMLA called "Teaching Women Writers."
