Dr. Haririan joined Bloomsburg University in 1982, before which he was a lecturer at the New School for Social Research, Fordham University, Baruch College and assistant professor at Ramapo College of New Jersey. He received his Ph.D. in 1987 with concentration in Economic Theory and Public Finance from The New School University. Dr. Haririan received his bachelor’s degree from the National University of Iran, Master’s degree in Economics/Agricultural Economics from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

He has taught courses in Managerial Economics (MBA Program), Special Topics (Transition in Central and East European Countries), International Economics, Money and Banking, Public Finance, Business and Economic Statistics I, Business and Government, Labor Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics (Honors), Principles of Macroeconomics, and Principles of Microeconomics.

Dr. Haririan was the recipient of the Dean’s salute to excellence award in 2009. His book entitled “State-Owned Enterprises in a Mixed Economy: Micro verses Macro Objectives,” was published by Westview Press. An annotation of his book was published in the Journal of Economic Literature. His research has been published in dozens of articles in scholarly journals and presented at numerous national and international conferences. Dr. Haririan is a lifetime member of the International Atlantic Economic Society and Southern Economic Association.

Research Interests:
Economics of Happiness, Economics of Obesity, Privatization and Marketization in Airports, Economics of Transition and Globalization.
