Dr. Shapeero earned his Ph.D. in Accounting at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), and his MBA with Concentration in Accounting and Bachelor's degree in Accounting, both from the California State University, Chico.

Mike Shapeero, Professor of Accounting, teaches classes in Auditing, Fraud Examination, and Intermediate Financial Accounting. He is a 2003 and 2016 recipient of Bloomsburg University’s Teaching and Learning Enhancement Center’s Outstanding Teaching Award. He has authored articles in auditing, ethics, and fraud examination.
Prior to academia, Dr. Shapeero worked in public accounting in Northern California. He is a Certified Public Accountant (California, inactive) and a Certified Management Accountant.
He served on the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ Higher Education Council and is a past Treasurer of the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble.
