Dr. Stephen D. Clickard, Professor of Music, was appointed to the Bloomsburg University music faculty in 1998. He directs the BU Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. In addition, Dr. Clickard teaches courses in undergraduate conducting, jazz history, jazz improvisation, music education, and brass. Dr. Clickard is the inaugural recipient of the Evans Fellowship, given for his continued commitment to outstanding student and career advisement and his support of experiential learning activities.

Dr. Clickard is past-president of the International Association for Jazz Education’s Pennsylvania Unit, and of the California Music Educator’s Association – Central Coast Section. He is a former administrator of the Monterey Jazz Festival’s Summer Jazz Camp and is a contributing author for the books “A Composer’s Insight – Volumes I and III”. Dr. Clickard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from San Jose State University, a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from The University of Northern Colorado, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting from the University Of Washington.

Dr. Clickard is the director of The Clickard Consortium, "Little Big Band," which released it's second CD - "DANÇA DO PAPAGAIO" in September of 2016. It was a project made possible through the Evans Fellowship and included joint faculty, professional, alumni and student research utilizing the Bloomsburg University's professionally equipped recording studio, professional and student musicians as well as student engineers majoring in Audio/Video Recording.
