Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta)

Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological sciences and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 175,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 530 chapters have been established throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

The mission of Tri-Beta is to stimulate scholarship, disseminate scientific knowledge, and promote biological research. To fulfill this mission, the national organization of Beta Beta Beta recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding individuals and chapters and publishes a national journal, BIOS.

BU's Rho Chi Chapter

Rho Chi Chapter
With 52 regular, associate, and graduate members and 10 faculty members, BU's Rho Chi Chapter participates in numerous scholarly enterprises, several scientific meetings, and community service initiatives.

Cynthia Surmacz, Ph.D., professor of biological and allied health sciences, serves as its faculty advisor.
