Bloomsburg University's M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education program provides theoretical and practical experiences future teachers need to meet the challenges of educating the youth of our country. The graduate program is 54-graduate credit hours, which includes a practicum experience (3 credits) and a capstone student teaching experience (6 credits). An additional choice is the Master's in PK-4 without certification. This program is designed for certified teachers interested in additional theoretical and analytical knowledge in the area of PK-4 education.
Program Requirements Packet
Must be completed by the end of TWO semesters. Please see your advisor as soon as possible for guidance with the completion of this requirement. Please be advised, it's ultimately your responsibility to get this packet completed and into the early childhood and adolescent education office within the timeframe outlined in the packet. Your advisor will assist you but will not complete the packet for you.
Courses and Curriculum
All materials should be mailed directly to the Office of Graduate Studies. A complete application packet includes:
- A completed graduate school application
- Official undergraduate transcript(s) (minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA for full admission)
- Letter of Intent
- A current Resume
- 2 Letters of Recommendation
Additional Program Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship to be certified to teach in Pennsylvania
- Program Requirements – once accepted into the program (see program coordinator)
- Graduate Program Requirement Packet (Gold Packet)
- Clearances (Act 34, Act 151, FBI Fingerprinting, and Act 24)
- Professional Liability Insurance
- TB test
- Completion of GPS (Graduate Professional Seminar) in first semester
