Students walking to class during the first week of the fall semester

Current Students

Huskies come from all walks of life but charge forward as a team. It’s a spirit that defines our pack and grit that stands out wherever we go.

Bloomsburg University was founded on the belief that opportunity is created by those determined to achieve more. We’ve built a reputation on grit, determination, and hustle over the last 180 years. And while these were the hallmarks of our students in 1839, they remain at the heart of every Husky today.

Commuter Students

Engaged students are successful students, and college is a time for you to make the most of your time at BU.  The University offers over 100 student clubs and organizations to explore, including one specifically created to advocate for commuter students! We encourage you to try new things, meet up with new and old friends, and have fun while learning more about the world around you.

It’s important to find “your spot” on campus when not in classes; here’s a list of some recommended spots worth checking out:

  • Commuter Lounge – Warren Student Services Center 157 (mini fridge, microwave, pod coffee makers, social spaces).
  • Andruss Library – reserve your own study space or utilize the computers and printers (includes graduate study lounge on the 4th floor).
  • Commons and other food stops on campus (Starbucks and Subway have great seating options for you!)
  • Kehr Union
    • student lounges (Fireside on second, info desk lobby on third) – couches and places to charge devices, what more could you need?
    • Game Room near Fireside lounge on second
    • LGBTQA Resource Center – a safe and welcoming space in room 349
  • Women’s Resource Center – Schuykill Hall, everyone is welcome!
  • Student Rec Center – fitness classes, climbing wall, cardio, weight rooms, ping pong tables and more. Locker rooms with showers available.
  • Other couch/lounge areas throughout campus: Soltz, Husky Lounge, McCormick, Arts and Admin building, Bakeless, Old Science

Please connect with the Commuter Student Organization if you have other questions or suggestions on how to improve the commuter student experience.
