Professional sales students leave their mark at ICSC

Bloomsburg University business students Mackenzie Jackson and Dylan Cohen advanced to quarterfinals during a role-play competition at the International Collegiate Sales Competition held at Florida State University.

“I attended career fairs and competed in the role-play competition of selling a cyber security technology platform,” said Jackson, a business management and professional sales major.

Competitors in the role-play event are given real-life scenario where they must work together and develop ideas to sell a product and meet the business needs leading to a solution for the scenario. Ideas on how to effectively sell the product must be presented.

“This experience has helped me in my professional career exponentially,” Jackson said. “I’ve made so many contacts and networked with numerous companies, as well as learned so much about myself and enhanced my sales skills.”

“My biggest takeaway from the experience was to talk to as many professionals as you can, and networking is key because you never know where it may lead,” Jackson said. “It was such a great professional experience, and I’m so pleased for the opportunity to make it to the quarterfinals and represent BU!”
