As vice president for advancement at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Erik Evans is responsible for alumni and professional engagement, marketing and communications, and all philanthropic/capital campaigns. He works collaboratively with the university president and the Bloomsburg University Foundation to provide philanthropic and entrepreneurial resources in support of Bloomsburg University.
Under his leadership, the university and foundation initiated It’s Personal, a $50 million comprehensive capital campaign, the largest of its kind in BU’s history. To date, over $60 million has been raised in support of student scholarships, faculty research, student professional development and emerging opportunities.
Evans, originally from northern New Jersey, graduated from Lock Haven University with a bachelor's degree in speech communications and from Bloomsburg University with a master's degree in business education.
Earlier in his career, he served as associate vice president for university advancement at Juniata College and executive director for alumni and development at Lock Haven University. He also worked in private industry as a marketing manager for Superior Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio. He subsequently taught high school business education and computer applications courses and coached varsity softball at Middleburg High School in Pennsylvania.
Evans's wife, Cori, also a graduate of Lock Haven University, is a professor and chair of the business and computer science department at Lock Haven University. Their family, which includes children Derrick, Olivia, Mitch and Mia, enjoys traveling, dining out and sports activities.
