This minor prepares students with critical knowledge and skills recognized as being essential to enhancing the performance and profitability of small business organizations. The minor helps students develop entrepreneurial thinking and actions and sharpens their small business management skills in various functions such as financing, operations, accounting, human resources, marketing, and risk management.

The minor also enables students to apply for jobs in their major field requiring supervisory and management skills. For non-business majors, having a background in entrepreneurship and small business will make them more attractive to employers who tend to value organizational and entrepreneurial competencies in their employees.
