Mathematical and Digital Sciences
Led by 24 full-time faculty members holding doctoral degrees from prestigious institutions, our Department of Mathematical and Digital Sciences is committed to preparing graduates for rewarding careers in mathematics, computer science, statistics and digital forensics.
Our faculty members are also active in various research areas, publish articles and textbooks, and maintain strong connections to local industry. In addition, our department offers a program supporting teacher certification in secondary education mathematics, as well as career-enhancing minors in statistics and computer science, including a web development track.
Programs of Study
Computer Science — covers core areas of computer science with an emphasis on the design, analysis, and production of complex and reliable software systems.
Data Science — equips students to draw conclusions from data, using knowledge of statistical inference, computational technology, data management skills and related theories.
Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity — prepares students for careers as digital forensic specialists who can work with law enforcement, homeland security agencies, law firms and private companies.
Mathematics — encourages, promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and articulation of mathematical ideas.
Statistics — prepares students for careers in industry, government, and business, as well as graduate programs in statistics and other related fields.
